Lost Puppy Driven 1,400 Miles Back Home, Only To Find Out Owner Doesn’t Want Her

Blue, a Pit Bull mix puppy, got loose from her Lehigh Acres, Florida home, and was eventually found more than 1,500 miles away in Midland, Michigan.

It’s unknown how Blue made her way that far, but luckily, the person who found her brought her to the Humane Society of Midland County.

While many dogs found as strays wind up not having a microchip, Blue did! They were able to track down her owner’s in Florida, who said Blue had been missing for nearly a week.

Her owner says her kennel or fence was broken, so her owner believes that someone may have stolen her.

One woman who is a huge dog lover offered to drive Blue the 1,400 miles to reunite with her owner. Blue was so excited to be back home, but her owner felt otherwise.

Instead of a happy reunion, Blue’s owner decided she no longer wanted her.

“She gave up the dog, after I drove more than 1,400 miles,” the driver told the Detroit Free Press. “The only thing she said was she doesn’t have time to train the dog, she doesn’t have time for the dog.”

The woman knew if she left the dog there, she would just run away again, so she decided to drive Blue all the way back to the Midland County shelter.

The Humane Society, who says blue is such a sweet and friendly puppy, put Blue up for adoption. Once Blue’s story got out, the shelter began receiving a ton of applications from people who were willing to open their home to the unwanted pup.

Luckily, they were able to find the perfect fit for Blue! She loves her new dad and the pair couldn’t be happier.
