Friends of Campbell County Animal Control in Virginia watched in horror as security cameras captured an act of animal abuse so deplorable that they could not believe their eyes.

The driver of a car pulls up to the shelter, opens the trunk, drags a very pregnant dog across a parking lot, and abandoned her there. The dog spent the night outside, all alone, without shelter.

“It’s very open. There’s a bench but that’s not shelter,” stated Kelsey Wright, a shelter worker. “And it’s concrete too.”

The animal was found outside the next morning. Despite everything she’s been through, Tilly is doing well. Authorities need help from the general public to locate her abusers.

“We’d like to identify the men responsible for driving this dog to the Campbell County Shelter under cover of darkness, pulling her out of the trunk of their car, and dragging her into the concrete fenced area where she lay unsheltered on concrete all night on Friday night,” Friends of Campbell County Animal Control shared to Facebook.

It is unclear whether Tilly was stolen, is part of a domestic dispute, or taken from another county. She is at a local veterinarian to give birth. Call tips into Animal Control via Campbell County Dispatch, 434.592.9574.
