Construction Crew Finds “Muddy Puppy” In Hole, Turns Out They Were Totally Wrong

When construction workers at a site in Canary Wharf, London, went to work one day, they never expected to find a helpless animal resembling a dog. The sweet creature was stranded at the bottom of a hole and filled with mud and plastic bits caked to his fur.

The animal was very excited for help to arrive, but the men had no idea what they stumbled upon.

The crew was kind enough to contact Essex Wildlife Hospital to come to the scene and see the animal. Rescuers were perplexed as to what this mud-caked animal was, too.

It took the veterinary crew several hours of gentle dedicated scrubbing to clean this mysterious critter up. After all the layers were washed away, the animal turned out to be a gorgeous four-month-old baby fox!

They named him “Muddsey,” which was fitting, thanks to the construction crew that got involved.

In a statement to the Daily Mail, hospital administrator Su Schwar said,  “It would certainly have had a pretty awful death if it hadn’t been found, it was very cold and in shock but is fine now.”

The once petrified fox that was caked in all that mud turned out to be a relieved, healthy little guy thanks to all the caring people involved. We love a happy ending!
