Darrick is a caretaker in the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand. He has been caring for the elephants in the park for many years, and has bonded with them on a deep emotional level.
However, his bond with an elephant named Kham La defies all norms of elephant-human friendships!
In this video, Darrick calls out to Kham La like one would call out to a regular friend! Kham La recognizes her human’s call, and comes running with her herd to greet him.
The entire herd perks up, as if they were waiting for some playtime with Darrick all the while! This incredible moment was all caught on cam!

Apart from caring for elephants, Darrick also spends a good amount of time cuddling with them.
