They say dogs are man’s best friend, and few things show that more than when people and their pets are reunited after huge chunks of time apart. After being away in the military or on a long trip, seeing your pet again makes everything better.
Miss Poppy hadn’t seen her dad, Michael Tully, in nearly two months while he was away for work.
In the adorable clip below, the dog is about to get the best surprise when Michael walks through the door to see her and the pair is reunited in May 2017!
“I have a surprise for you,” Miss Poppy’s mom says to the dog. “There’s someone who wants to see you!” As if knowing her dad is coming home, she perks up her ears and stares at the door.
Sure enough, her dad comes in and Miss Poppy takes off toward Michael, excited as ever.
“Daddy’s home, Daddy’s home,” Michael says, which gets her even more excited to finally be reunited with him — good thing she didn’t pass out from her excitement. The dog yips and whines almost as if to say, “I can’t believe you’re home, Dad!”
Miss Poppy reacts like any pet that misses their parent, with lots of barking and adorable tail wagging. The bond her and her owner share is unmistakable and as strong as ever.
