Homeless Man Spends Night Outside Of Shelter In Hopes Of Finding His Lost Dog

DeKalb County Animal Services worker came to work early one morning and saw a homeless person sleeping out front of the Georgia shelter.

The kennel tech woke him and found out that he’d lost his dog and was hoping she would show up here. He wanted nothing more than his best friend in the world.

He spent what little money he had on the bus ride to the shelter. But he didn’t know that his dog had been picked up as a stray about two weeks earlier, and she was being kept in the animal service’s new building across town. He had no way to get there other than walking, but the worker stepped up to help.

The kennel tech paid for the train ride to the other side of town to reunite the man with his dog. And there Tata was, happy and healthy and waiting for a reunion with her dad.

What an amazing act of kindness! And to top it off, the shelter waived all fees and even offered assistance through their outreach program that helps the homeless care for their pets.

This man may not have much in the way of material possessions, but his love for his dog is all that matters to him in the world.
