It was a rather absurd situation at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, Texas, when a middle-aged man walked in to surrender his dog, Jubilee.
The man claimed that the 1-year-old Irish Setter and Heeler mix had embarrassing “anxiety issues”, and was a little “too affectionate and clingy” for his taste.

The man also expressed his frustration over how Jubilee would chew up his cushions if he didn’t pay attention to her.
He obviously never put in any effort to train her, but was still excessively critical of her “demanding” nature.
Poor Jubilee lovingly stared at her owner all the while he kept complaining, but the apathetic man simply filled the paperwork and walked away.

Jubilee was heavily confused to find herself back in the shelter, and she kept blaming herself for being a “bad dog”.
The shelter staff was heartbroken to see this bright-eyed girl getting depressed each day, so they shared her story with the community in hopes of finding a home that accepts her as she is.
Needless to say, no one could wrap their head around the “lame excuse” provided by Jubilee’s owner for abandoning her.
Within days, hundreds of adoption applications poured in as more and more people reached out to take this endearing sweetheart home!

Jubilee eventually found her perfect home with Samantha and her family. In fact, her popularity also helped a couple of other shelter dogs find forever homes.
Jubilee is living it up with her new family now, and her anxiety is already getting better.
She is still a clinger though, and her new “victim” is Samantha’s teen son, who hardly minds getting overdosed with love from his furry bestie!

A friend of mine has a beautiful Dalmatian. Friendly, energetic and lovable, she was a perfect family pet… but she wasn’t the smartest pooch on the planet. Named for their butterfly-shaped ears, papillons are small, cute and pretty smart. They’re considered the smartest of the toy dog breed, with intelligence levels comparable to the über-smart border collie. They’re alert and focused pets, and loyal and lovable: an ideal friend for he family.
8. Doberman
Sadly, Dobermans are known more for their ferocity than their smarts, but these are considered among the most intelligent dogs in the world, as well as one of the most effective guard dogs around. They’re outstanding students known to be affectionate and obedient.
9. Bloodhound

Don’t let the wrinkles and dopey expression fool you! Bloodhounds have the keenest of noses, and are often used for trailing (so much so that their evidence can be used in court against you!). These are loving but strong-willed dogs, and are often used on search and rescue missions.
10. Australian Cattle Dog

You need a smart, determined and energetic dog to control unruly cows. And that’s just what the Australian Cattle Dog, or ACD, does. They’re intelligent enough to herd these much larger creatures, and while they need their independence and wide open spaces, they’re eager workers who know how to get the job done.
