Junior the Border Collie has been hit pretty hard the past couple of days. It began when Junior’s canine best friend for the last 13 years was diagnosed with cancer.
Junior watched his best friend wither away each day, until the day came to finally bid him farewell.

Junior did not take his friend’s passing very well. Initially, his parents thought that Junior would grieve for a few days and get over it.
But months passed by and Junior’s bereavement had started affecting his health. He lost his appetite to eat and play. He would just mope in a corner all the time.
Junior’s dad knew that his emotional state was in a mess and that he needed immediate help. So, Dad brought Junior a stuffed dog toy that resembled his old friend.
Junior’s downbeat spirit rose up at the sight of the plush toy, and he hugged it with all his might!

The toy dog was the eventual hero that helped Junior cope with his grief. He carried the toy everywhere, hugged it and embraced it while going to sleep.
Although nothing could ever replace his best friend, the toy gave him the comfort no one else could. Junior is slowly breaking out of the shackles of misery, and finding the way back to his true happy self!
