Dog Is Fighting For His Life After He Was Stabbed & Left For Dead By His Owner

A Phoenix man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his three-year-old dog, then leaving the scene without providing medical treatment for the animal.

The suspect and dog’s owner, Andrian P. Aliguin, 26, told police that the dog was chasing people outside, so he brought him into his house where he “stabbed it and killed it.”

Aliguin faces a felony charge of animal cruelty and a misdemeanor charge of failure to provide medical treatment.

The dog, who had life-threatening injuries to his trachea, was rushed to Arizona Humane Society’s Second Chance Animal Hospital, with his neck and chest soaked in blood.

X-rays revealed three deep lacerations, including one that has torn his trachea. Thankfully, it’s expected to heal on its own. Vets put him on antibiotics and pain medications and have given him a ‘fair’ prognosis.

The blood-covered knife was retrieved from Aliguin’s home. He was booked into jail but later released on his own recognizance. He will appear in court again on July 25.
