Mini Donkey Walks Up To 5 Majestic Clydesdales, Asks If He Can Join Their Club

We all dream of playing with the big guys, living among the legends we’ve learned to love, but do we have what it takes to make those dreams come true? Well, one little donkey has a lesson for all of us.

If you can dream it, you can achieve it, with a little work and some sweet talk. The folks who make the Budweiser Clydesdale horses famous are bringing notoriety to a dreamer of a donkey, too. It doesn’t matter that he’s only about as tall as the typical Clydesdale leg is long. What he lacks in height, he makes up for in determination.

The majestic Clydesdale horses are symbolic of the Budweiser brand, making an appearance back in 1933 when, as a way to celebrate the end of Prohibition, August and Adolphus Busch gifted a Clydesdale to their father. The donkey came on the scene much, much later. In fact, it was more than seven decades later when the donkey appeared in a Super Bowl commercial during the 2004 game.

In the video, the donkey sets his sights on strutting with the big guys, and in this commercial, he outlines his game plan to become one of them. The donkey explains his goal and states the obvious: he wasn’t born a Clydesdale. But he also isn’t going to let that interfere with his dreams.

He spends his days walking through the field, working on the Clydesdale walk, practicing the pull. He even goes as far as to add hair extensions to his legs to give him the full body feel that makes Clydesdale horses instantly recognizable.

When his day finally comes to convince the Clydesdales that he’s more than capable of joining the crew, he answers with the proud neigh that only a donkey can deliver. Or, one could describe it as a screech of sorts. Either way, it seals his spot in their sacred lineup.

The donkey proves that with some determination, dreams really can come true.
