Mom Shares Last Day With Dying Dog, Their Final Goodbye Shows What True Love Is

The hardest part of being a dog parent is the unsettling fact that we as humans will likely outlive our dogs’ short lives. Dog mom Kyle Amick recently faced a dreaded decision with her Pit Bull-Terrier mixed breed, Hannah.

The 11-year-old dog suffered from arthritis and seizures, and her mom was really upset by the side effects of the medications. They took a great toll on Hannah and she no longer had quality of life.

She watched as Hannah tried to walk but she struggled. Amick made the decision to end Hannah’s misery. She would give her beautiful dog one last memorable day and document it with images and text to share on social media.

Amick wrote on Facebook, “I finally decided that keeping her on the meds was selfish, but keeping her off of them was just as cruel.”

The duo started out with a car ride.

She took her to PetSmart for a nice bath, then for some fast food takeout.

A play session for Hannah and her bestie, Vinny, was next. Amick painted Hannah’s nails and made sure she knew she was loved.

“I don’t think there was a single person there at the vet that didn’t cry with us,” Amick shared on Buzzfeed.
