Pit Bull Discovered With Nose Stapled On In Massive Dogfighting Ring

When the shelter director of the humane society says the dogs they rescued look “like something out of a horror film,” you know it’s bad.

Twenty frightened dogs who were removed from a property in Franklin, New York have been dubbed the “Franklin 20.” Details have emerged, and the abuse and torture these dogs endured can only be described as shocking.

Although there was no evidence of dogfighting found on the property of 41-year-old Nasier Azmat, defenseless dogs were discovered in deplorable conditions.

“I have never seen animals in such conditions of pain, torture and neglect,”Erin Insinga, shelter director, Delaware Valley Humane Society, shared. “These dogs were stacked like pieces of furniture in a dark room.”

Authorities say cages were filled with urine, feces, and vomit and the dogs were dehydrated, emaciated, and covered in old and new wounds.

The animals ranged in age from nine weeks to six years and include 17 Pit Bulls and two German Shepherds.

One of the dogs had a staple in her nose because at one point part of her nose was ripped off. Someone stapled it back on and skin started growing around the staple. Most of the dogs are scared and afraid to be touched.

The case is under investigation as of this writing. Azmat has been arrested and charged with 41 counts of animal fighting and cruelty charges.

“We will not tolerate animal abuse here,” Insinga said. “The voices of the Franklin 20 will not go unheard.”
