Orlando Bloom Confirms Death Of His Missing Dog, Gets Tattoo To Honor Him

After a week-long search for his missing beloved dog, Mighty, actor Orlando Bloom as confirmed that the pup has died.

“Mighty’s on the other side now,” Bloom wrote on Instagram. “After 7 days of searching from sunrise to sunset and into the wee hours, today, the 7th day ~the number of completion~ we found his collar.”

Bloom adopted Mighty back in 2017 and the two have been inseparable ever since.

“I have wept more this week than I thought possible, which has been very cathartic and healing,” he continued.

Bloom spent many sleepless nights searching for Mighty, in the hopes that he would find him alive.

“I left no stone unturned, crawled thru all the man holes, under the roads, searched every back yard and creek bed,” he wrote. Had two separate sniffer dogs do their best as well.”

Bloom says he has felt broken since Mighty’s disappearance and couldn’t fathom how scared he must’ve felt being lost by himself. He felt helpless not being able to do anything to protect him, and described it as a “waking nightmare.”

“I feel so grateful to have learned from my little Mighty man that love is eternal and the true meaning of devotion,” he wrote. “I feel sure he was looking down on me whistling in every back yard and knowing that I was doing all I possibly could to respect our bond.”

Bloom has since gotten a tattoo on his chest over his heart to honor his furry best friend. He showed off the tattoo, which says “Mighty” above a little heart, on his Instagram.

“He was more than a companion,” Bloom concluded. “It was a soul connection for sure. I’m sorry. I love you. Thank you. RIP my MIGHTY HEART my little fellow.”
