Two Dogs Almost Die After Touching Toxic Plant Commonly Found In Many Yards

However, one day Amy came back to see her dogs collapsed and unresponsive in a pile of vomit. She immediately took them to the vet’s, and it was found that they had 30% chemical burns on their body due the milky sap from a plant called ‘Firestick succulent’ or ‘Pencil cactus’.

Remi’s burns were nearly lethal, while Koopa had ingested some of the toxic substance, which led to the lethargy and vomiting. Luckily, the dogs survived due to the timely medical attention, and their fighting spirits.

Apparently, this plant’s milky-white sap is toxic to pets as well as humans. The exposure of the sap to the skin causes a painful rash. If the sap gets in the eyes, it can cause temporary blindness. Also, ingesting it can throw the internal organs off-balance.
