Pratima used to have a tea-stall, and two dogs to give her company. Over the decades, her tea-stall was demolished, and her dogs started giving birth. She couldn’t bear to part with any single one of them. So, she started earning her livelihood as a rag-picker, for the upkeep of her canine family.

Over time, her pack grew in size, and now, 120 of the dogs live with her in her tiny home, while the rest of them stay close by. An 18-year-old boy named Vivek often drops by to help her in caring for the dogs. Together, they provide the dogs with a safe life, within their limited means.
