CANDi (Cats and Dogs International) photographer Tracey Buyce was working a photo shoot in Bonfil, Mexico, when she came across a dog who very much looked like a stray.
She was emaciated so badly that you could see all of her ribs, and she was obviously suffering and without any kind of help.
Her work immediately turned toward this dog, and the photos she took of her would have a huge impact. This is Luna’s story.

It turned out the dog was not a stray. Luna was completely neglected and unloved, so Tracey asked the owner to hand her over.
And it worked! It wasn’t long before she found out the dog was dying of not only starvation and abuse but cancer too.

But this wouldn’t be the end of Luna’s journey. She didn’t come this far to just give up and lie down and die.
After a lengthy recovery, Luna made the trip to New York to see her new family and forever home, and you don’t want to miss the emotional homecoming. 🙂
