#1 – Beagle
The Beagle is a friendly, happy dog with short hair.
They do need a lot of exercise, but much of this can be provided by playing with the kids.
Beagles are scent hounds and tend to follow their nose, so your backyard should have a solid fence to prevent them from wandering off.
