Never underestimate the intelligence of a dog. You never know when they could be the one thing that saves a life. That’s exactly what happened when a 2-year-old went missing.

One of the greatest fears of a parent is to have your child go missing. It’s a tragic and terrifying experience and one that no parent should ever have to endure. Sadly for Chelsea Noble, this fear became a reality when she woke up to find William, her 2-year-old toddler, missing from his bed. That’s until one little boy, Blake Carroll, discovered a miracle.

In October of 2017 in Harrison County Mississippi, Chelsea made the call to police that her son was missing. Immediately a search team dispatched to the wooded area near the boy’s home. Afraid that the boy would be preyed upon by wildlife or drowned in a nearby creek, authorities acted fast.

After eight hours of helicopters, K-9 units and volunteers searching, they still had not found the little boy. Then, authorities spotted a set of tiny footprints in the woods. Every set of prints had a second set of prints– dog prints.

That’s when Blake was arriving home from school. He heard the horn beeping from his uncle’s old truck and saw a dog circling, frantically trying to get inside. Inside the truck is where they found William. It appears that he wandered off in the night with the family dog, Jezebel, by his side.

Jezebel stayed with him the entire time. It’s estimated that William walked 3-4 miles through the woods until he found a truck to crawl into. Apart from bug bites and scratches, William was in good health.

It goes to show you that our dogs are smarter than we think. Jezebel stayed with William and protected him from the wilds of the forest right up until he was rescued. What an absolute miracle!
