Grapes seem like a nice cool treat to give your dog on a hot summer day. Unfortunately, grapes – and by extension, raisins – are actually a harmful food to feed your dog. They’re toxic to dogs, even though they may be harmless to humans.
Some dogs are able to eat a few grapes and have no effect, but the risk isn’t worth letting your dog have some. Grapes can cause kidney damage in your dog, and the damage can be irreversible, which can lead to a shortened life or even death.
It’s best to find another treat to give your dog, and make sure they stay out of reach of grapes and raisins
