Dog Brothers Abandoned on Porch Watch the World Go By, Hoping Someone Will Notice

On a quiet porch in Price Hill, Ohio, two dogs sat side by side, watching strangers pass with hopeful eyes. They didn’t bark or chase anyone down — they just waited.

One was missing a leg. Both were painfully thin. And neither had anywhere to go.

As days passed, concerned neighbors began posting photos on Facebook, pleading for help. That’s when Rescue Me Animal Advocacy stepped in.

The organization typically doesn’t operate in that part of town, but when they saw Sampson and Boss’s faces, they couldn’t look away.

“We knew we had to help,” said Kim Bush, president of Rescue Me Animal Advocacy. “They broke our hearts.”

The rescue team rushed to pick the dogs up and brought them straight to the vet for immediate care.

Afterward, the pair was placed in a boarding facility where they’ve remained ever since — safe, fed, and loved by the staff, but still waiting for a real home.

“They’re so much healthier now,” Bush said. “But no one’s shown interest in adopting them. It’s heartbreaking.”

Sampson and Boss have been at the facility since November. Despite their affectionate natures and playful personalities, they’ve been overlooked time and again.

The two don’t need to be adopted together, but they do need homes without other pets. Boss is energetic and would thrive with an active family, while Sampson — the resilient tripod — just wants someone to cuddle up with at the end of the day.

“They both deserve so much more than a kennel,” Bush said. “Everyone at the facility loves them, but nothing compares to a real home.”

When they first arrived, shivering and hungry, the dogs didn’t know what came next. Now, they're warm, cared for, and hopeful once more.

But after everything they’ve been through, these two are still waiting for their happy ending.
