10 Tiny Dogs Abandoned in Crate by Highway Wait Patiently for Help

On the morning of April 1, Suzette Hall hoped the message she received was just an April Fool’s prank — a report of a wire crate hidden under a blanket near a busy freeway.

But as the founder of Logan’s Legacy 29 read on and saw mentions of faint whimpers, her heart dropped.

“I rescued four dogs on Christmas in this same spot,” Hall wrote on Facebook. She knew she had to act fast.

Hall and her friend Becks Goodman raced to the location. There, tucked in a secluded area by the highway, they spotted a purple zebra-print blanket draped over a crate. What they uncovered beneath it left them stunned.

“We literally couldn’t believe it when we lifted the blanket,” Hall shared. “Ten little babies abandoned — and still wagging their tails.”

Hall had expected to find maybe one or two dogs. Instead, ten small pups stared back at her, their soft cries nearly drowned out by the roar of passing traffic.

If not for the Good Samaritan who’d heard barking and called it in, Hall believes they might have gone unnoticed.

“It was a miracle,” she said. “There’s nothing out there but the freeway. No one driving by would have even seen them.”

The dogs were in rough shape — many with visible injuries, inflamed skin, and fur loss — but miraculously, they were all alive. Hall vowed to get them the care they needed.

She quickly transported the group — Barry, Scooby, Eggo, E.T., Piglet, Chicken, Elvis, Banana, Eeyore, and Pooh Bear — to the vet for urgent exams.

Many were identified as seniors and required extensive medical treatment, but thankfully, all were given a hopeful prognosis.

With proper care, time, and love, these dogs had a second chance.

Soon, each of them was placed in a medical foster home where they could heal safely and start to trust again. Just over two weeks later, their progress has been remarkable.

“Their hair is starting to grow back,” Hall wrote. “Sweet little babies.”

Once fully recovered, the resilient pack will be ready for adoption. Until then, they’re enjoying comfort, kindness, and the safety they always deserved.

“These little miracles are so thankful,” Hall said.
