When Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy 29, picked up her phone last month, she immediately sensed urgency on the other end.
A man working at an industrial site near Los Angeles had stumbled upon something troubling — a laundry basket left out in the open, and inside it, something was moving.
As he got closer, he saw it was filled with tiny, fluffy puppies — and their mother was tied up right next to them.

“They were literally dumped,” Hall later wrote. “Thank God a worker noticed them.”
No one knew how long the little family had been there, but it was clear they’d been deliberately abandoned. Fortunately, they were discovered before it was too late.

Without hesitation, Hall drove straight to the site. When she arrived, she found the mother dog — later named Polly — still wagging her tail despite her heartbreaking situation.
Her three puppies, nestled together in the laundry basket, blinked up at their rescuer with wide, tired eyes.
“She was so happy to see me,” Hall wrote. “She knew I was there to help.”

Polly had been tethered tightly beside the basket, unable to leave her babies. Hall carefully untied the rope and began loading the tiny family into her car.
The pups were dehydrated, covered in ticks, and clearly in need of medical attention — but they were safe now.
As they drove to Camino Pet Hospital, Hall reassured them with kind words and gentle touches, promising them love, safety, and a better future.

At the vet, Polly and her pups — Bowie, Rolly Polly, and Fidget — received treatment for ticks and tummy troubles. Though tired and weak, they finally had a warm place to rest and recover.
Weeks later, the little family has made a remarkable recovery. Bowie has already been adopted and is thriving in his new home. His siblings and mama are still waiting for their forever families, but Hall is confident it won’t be long.

“They’re all the sweetest, most thankful babies ever,” she said. “Polly hasn’t stopped wagging her tail.”
