Charlene Longhi is used to pets giving her the side-eye. As a veterinarian, she knows she’s not always the most popular face among her four-legged patients — no matter how kind her intentions are.
But one pup’s reaction to seeing her didn’t happen in an exam room — it happened on the street, and it was downright hilarious.
A few weeks ago, Longhi was heading to work in Brazil, dressed in her usual vet attire, when traffic came to a crawl. That’s when she noticed a small dog in the car just ahead, riding shotgun and enjoying the view — until he noticed her.
Suddenly, the pup’s relaxed demeanor vanished. His eyes locked onto Longhi’s face, and the horror set in.
Clearly convinced that he had just been found by the vet he didn’t know he was hiding from, the dog erupted in an adorably dramatic fit of yaps and growls — as if to say, “How did she find me?!”
Longhi couldn’t help but laugh at the over-the-top response.
“I found the situation very funny,” she told The Dodo.
She’s fairly sure she’s never treated that particular pup before, but judging by his reaction, he wasn’t taking any chances.
Still, Longhi holds no grudges.
“If he were in my clinic,” she said, “it would be a pleasure to serve him.”
