When rescuers first met Nulli, a timid Border Collie abandoned on the streets of South Africa, her future looked uncertain. Injured, starving, and clinging to the ruins of her past life, Nulli was barely hanging on.

Left Behind, Then Attacked
After her owner abandoned her without a word, Nulli refused to leave the place she once called home. Day after day, she waited outside the empty house, hoping someone would return. But help never came.
Instead, Nulli endured hunger, harsh conditions, and a devastating attack from other dogs in the area. Badly wounded and completely alone, she was on the brink — until a kind passerby spotted her and contacted Sidewalk Specials, a rescue group known for reaching the most overlooked animals.

Injured But Still Gentle
Under layers of matted fur, Nulli bore hundreds of bite wounds. X-rays revealed a fractured skull and several broken teeth — clear signs of prolonged suffering. And yet, through it all, she never growled or pulled away.
“She was calm, sweet, and trusting,” the team shared. “Even in pain, she just wanted someone to care.”
Veterinarians treated her injuries, cleaned her wounds, and gave her the attention she’d long been denied. Slowly, with each passing day, Nulli began to heal — not just physically, but emotionally.
A Brand-New Life
Once she recovered, Nulli was placed up for adoption — and her second chance came quickly. A loving family opened their home and hearts to her, giving her the life every dog deserves.
Today, Nulli spends her days running on the beach, cuddling with her new dog sibling, and soaking up every bit of affection. Her transformation is stunning — from abandoned and broken to joyful and deeply loved.
Her new family says she’s thriving, and it’s easy to see why. For a dog who once waited outside a house that would never reopen, Nulli now lives in a home full of warmth, care, and security.
