In the quiet town of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Glenda Adams Phillips is used to nighttime concerts — the loud, nonstop chorus of frogs singing through the darkness. Tree frogs, bullfrogs, toads — they’re part of the background music of her life.
But one recent encounter made those noisy neighbors a little more real.
“I had just stepped outside when a little frog suddenly leapt right in front of me,” Phillips said. “He landed on the concrete and startled me — then quickly jumped over to the rocks.”
The frog was small, green, and surprisingly bold. Curious, Phillips pulled out her phone and snapped a quick picture before he could disappear again.
“I had never seen one like this before,” she said. “And it was so tiny! But with all the rain we’ve had this year, everything’s been staying damp — it must be frog heaven out there.”
Later, when she looked at her photo, something strange happened.
The frog was gone.
At least, that’s what it looked like. No matter how hard she squinted, Phillips couldn’t spot him. Somehow, the little amphibian had vanished completely into the background of rocks, leaves, and damp earth.
“I couldn’t even find it in my own picture,” she laughed.
Without realizing it, Phillips had taken a perfect hidden-animal photo — the kind that drives the internet wild. So she posted it to Facebook and challenged her friends: Can you find the frog?

But while most people struggle to locate him, Phillips is just happy to share a little slice of frog magic. With all the rain and humidity, she’s expecting plenty more surprise visits.
“I’m glad someone’s enjoying the weather,” she said.
