At Misfits Rehab, every creature — no matter how small or misunderstood — finds safety in the caring hands of wildlife rehabilitator Jennifer Marchigiani. Her mission is simple but powerful: heal wild animals in need and help them return to the freedom they were born for.
Recently, Marchigiani shared a TikTok video that melted hearts across the internet. In it, a group of rescued babies could be seen all cozied up in what looked like miniature sleeping bags, munching away happily — and the sight was almost too cute to believe.
But the story behind those tiny “sleeping bags” is even sweeter.
The babies in the video aren’t just any animals — they’re baby bats, ranging in age from newborns to just four weeks old. Each had been rescued from a different situation: one fell from a barn roof, another slipped down a chimney, and one tiny pup was discovered lying helplessly on someone’s lawn.
Separated from their mothers too soon, the fragile babies needed warmth, comfort, and a sense of safety — and that’s exactly what their little sleeping bags provide.

“The ‘sleeping bags’ are actually bat wraps,” Marchigiani told The Dodo. “They simulate the feeling of being tucked safely under their mother’s wing. It gives them a real sense of security.”

Just like swaddled newborns, the baby bats feel calm and content when they’re gently wrapped. Their snug “blankets” keep them warm, steady their tiny bodies, and remind them of the care they once knew.
And while the bat pups love their cozy wraps, the internet has completely fallen in love with them too.
“[People] think it’s adorable,” Marchigiani said with a smile.

The best part? Many of the little bats featured in the video have already grown strong enough to be released back into the wild — their tiny wings ready for the skies once again.
Others are still spending their last few weeks at Misfits Rehab, wrapped up safely and dreaming of the world waiting beyond their sleeping bags.
Each soft cocoon is more than just fabric — it’s a promise of a second chance.
