Man Overcomes Fear To Rescue ‘Angry’ Groundhog Trapped In Peanut Butter Jar

When Carly Roxx started her car one morning, she didn’t expect to find herself in the middle of a rescue mission. But before she could even turn the key, a strange clanging sound stopped her cold.

“Before I started the car, I heard something banging underneath,” Roxx told The Dodo. “I got out and there he was, kinda stuck under the car. I was so scared.”

Peering underneath, she found a groundhog in distress — his head jammed tight inside a plastic peanut butter jar. He was struggling to breathe and thrashing helplessly, unable to see or move freely.

Panicked but determined, Roxx ran to get her partner, Vince.

Vince didn’t have much experience rescuing wild animals — and he was understandably nervous about getting close to a frightened, cornered groundhog. But seeing the animal’s desperate struggle, he knew he had to help.

Using an oscillating saw with a safety blade, Vince worked slowly and carefully to loosen the jar without hurting the little guy. The groundhog flailed and squeaked in protest, but Vince stayed focused.

“I was definitely a little nervous — I’m sure he was angry and scared, too,” Vince said. “But I couldn’t watch him suffer.”

Enjoy this video of Vince saving a groundhogs life. I found this little guy trapped under my car banging his head. So Vince got his oscillator and cut it off so this groundhog could go about his business. This tool will not cut skin. They use similar tools to cut off plaster casts at the dr. We did attempt to call the game warden and then the police but they wouldn’t come out. Bonus at the end when Vince jumps over the fence in fear for his life!! 😂 #groundhog #animals #animalrescue #cityboy #cleveland #slowmo #fyp

Finally, with one last careful cut, the lid popped loose. The groundhog pulled free and bolted toward safety without a moment’s hesitation.

Vince stepped back, heart pounding, feeling a wave of relief and pride. The old peanut butter jar went straight into the trash, ensuring no other animal would meet the same fate.

“I felt accomplished for saving the poor guy,” Vince said. “It was kind of a silly situation — but it had a very rewarding ending. I’m just happy I could help.”
