When a bride-to-be and her best friends flew to Puerto Rico for her bachelorette party, they were ready for sunshine, laughter and maybe a few questionable decisions.
“The plan: mimosas by the sea, tropical hikes and mild-to-moderate bad decisions,” the bride joked in a TikTok video. “But then, the rainforest had other ideas.”
Halfway through a lush hike to a waterfall, the group suddenly stopped. In the middle of the path, two tiny kittens were huddled together — scared, filthy, and completely alone. The party plans instantly disappeared as instinct took over.
The women gently scooped up the kittens and rushed them out of the jungle, heading straight to the nearest vet. The babies were exhausted and dirty, but miraculously, they were going to be OK.
While waiting at the clinic, two of the women called home to share the unexpected news.
“Some people come back from vacation with a tan,” the bride laughed. “We came back with feral responsibility.”
After getting the all-clear from the vet, the kittens joined the group back at their hotel — and soon enough, on a flight home. The bride adopted the orange kitten, naming him Tom, while her maid of honor adopted his brother.
Now, the two kittens get weekly playdates, staying as close as their rescuers are.
Obviously, finding kittens in the jungle hadn’t been on the itinerary for the trip, but the bride wouldn’t have it any other way.
“Honestly,” the bride said, smiling, “best bachelorette plot twist ever.”
