In most homes, humans run the show — but not in this Ohio household. Here, a clever orange cat named Milo is the undisputed boss.
Though he shares the house with a dog and another cat, Milo has made it very clear who’s really in charge.
“[He’s a] master manipulator,” his parents joked on Instagram.
Every morning, Milo wakes up with a full agenda: demand his favorite show (SpongeBob SquarePants), lounge by his beloved electric fireplace, and, of course, stir up a little chaos.
“Milo has a strict 11 p.m. bedtime,” his parents said. “Until then, he’s running the place.”
While Milo loves his humans dearly, his furry siblings aren’t quite as lucky. He’s not mean — just strategically mischievous. And he’s developed some shockingly clever ways to get them out of his space.
One of Milo’s signature moves involves the family dog, Beckham. Whenever Milo decides Beckham needs a “time-out,” he sits in Beckham’s crate. Naturally, the confused pup walks right in — and Milo immediately hops out, trapping his brother inside.

Milo’s parents have rescued poor Beckham more than once, but the crafty cat never seems deterred. As soon as one scheme fails, he’s already plotting the next.
His feline sister Poppy, a gentle soul, has also fallen victim to his antics. Once, Milo lured her into a wicker chest — then promptly sat on the lid. His parents now make sure to “Milo-proof” the house, removing anything he could turn into a trap.
But recently, Milo managed to outsmart them again.
When Poppy suddenly went missing one afternoon, her parents searched everywhere — until they found her shut inside a kitchen cabinet. They had no idea how she’d gotten there … until the next day, when they caught Milo red-pawed.
“I continued to record and noticed he waited patiently by the cabinet,” his mom said. “Then, when Poppy went inside, he walked over, closed it, and ran off!”

Later, Milo returned to lounge smugly in front of the closed cabinet — clearly pleased with his work — until his parents once again freed poor Poppy.
“I’m going to have to Milo-proof the whole house,” they wrote.
By bedtime, Milo curls up sweetly with his parents as if nothing happened, only to wake up ready for another day of perfectly executed pranks.
No one can ever predict what this furry mastermind will do next — but one thing’s certain: life with Milo is never boring.
“[It’s] never a dull moment with Milo,” his parents said.
