Woman on Bus Realizes Someone Adorable Is Curled Up Behind the Driver

Colombian journalist Natalia Martínez López doesn’t usually rely on Bogota’s busy city buses to get around — but after one recent trip, she’s seriously considering it more often.

Because that day, her ride came with the sweetest unexpected bonus.

As she stepped onto the bus and found a seat, something caught her eye almost immediately:
A dog, perfectly curled up in the small space right behind the driver’s seat, snoozing as if it were her own personal studio apartment.

“My reaction was pure love,” López told The Dodo. “The driver brought her with him to work that day. I could tell she was very well taken care of.”

While maneuvering through Bogota’s bustling streets, the driver stayed focused on the road — but he never forgot about his furry co-pilot. Whenever traffic forced them to stop, he reached back to gently pet her, clearly smitten.

López said the entire atmosphere on the bus felt different that day. Passengers were quiet, but everyone shared the same warm reaction.

“Not only was the bus driver clearly happy to have his dog there,” she said, “everyone who got aboard was, too.”

No one knows whether the pup joins her dad on his route every day or if this was a special one-time adventure — but López has her hopes.

“The two of them made me so happy,” she said. “It was a different kind of bus ride. I would ride that bus with them every day.”
