Mackenzie and her friends couldn’t just drive away 
While on a girls trip, they saw someone leave a mama pittie and her puppy on the side of the road. They waited, hoping she’d come back — but when she didn’t, they stepped in to help. At the shelter, no one claimed them, and they were told Lucy was out of time.
So Mackenzie went back for her and brought her home to foster, while her puppy was adopted by a friend. And by Christmas, Lucy had already found where she belonged
