
More than 350 dogs were rescued from properties spanning Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi by the ASPCA in what was one of the biggest dog fighting ring raids in history.
Signs of neglect and abuse were everywhere, and these photos show just how badly these dogs were treated.
Timmy was one of the youngest dogs saved there and ended up becoming the “poster pup” with the ASPCA for abused dogs everywhere.
This was one section of one of the biggest dog fighting raids ever.

No dog deserves or needs this around its neck, especially a tiny pup.

How anyone could treat an animal so cruelly, we’ll never know.

But Timmy had the biggest smile when help arrived. 🙂

A total of ten suspects were arrested and charged with dogfighting.

But it was too late for many of the dogs. They found dead animals all over the properties.

But little Timmy was one of the survivors.

He was transported to the Humane Society of Calvert County in Maryland for care.

It would be a long legal process, but Timmy and the other dogs would get what they deserved.

Timmy went on to become the “poster pup” for the ASPCA to help bring attention to abused dogs everywhere.

About nine months after the raid, 10 of the 14 defendants had pleaded guilty. Fortunately, the more than 350 dogs were rescued before things could get even worse.
