Cat Disappears Perfectly Into a Pile of Autumn Leaves

When Avery Shrader decided to rake her yard, she had no idea her cat would end up stealing the spotlight. After gathering the fallen leaves into a big pile, she let her tortoiseshell cat, Lion, outside to explore.

“She loved it!” Shrader said. “She rolled around, then curled up and took the nicest nap.”

Of course, Shrader snapped a photo of the sweet moment. But later, when she looked at it again, something was missing — she couldn’t find her own cat in the picture. And neither could anyone else she showed.

“Most people I showed couldn’t spot her because she blends right in,” Shrader explained. “Even my dog couldn’t sniff her out while they were playing in the leaves together!”

Can you find her?

Lion’s mottled black, orange, and red fur matches the autumn leaves so perfectly that she practically vanishes into the pile. It’s camouflage at its finest — though Lion isn’t always so subtle.

“Her favorite hobby is … laying on the stairs so she can bite you when you step on her,” Shrader joked.

Turns out, Lion was in the center of the pile the whole time:

Still can't find her?

Don’t worry, your eyes aren’t deceiving you — she is in there.

While Lion’s leafy hiding spot makes her nearly invisible, at home she makes sure no one forgets she’s around.

“Her favorite person is me,” Shrader said. “She also enjoys hissing at my other pets just for fun.”

Lion may look like part of the scenery in her autumn photo, but rest assured — she’s very good at reminding her family who runs the house.
