The plan was simple: Campana spent two days baking a dog-friendly cake, carefully frosted in white. The idea? Let Beau do the honors by licking the cake to reveal the baby’s gender hidden inside — pink or blue. A fun, foolproof idea. Or so they thought.
But Beau had other plans.
Whether he wasn’t impressed by the cake or just wasn’t thrilled about the idea of sharing the spotlight (and maybe his treats) with a baby, Beau made it abundantly clear: he was not participating. Despite their best efforts — including placing a treat on top to entice him — Beau stood his ground. He refused to take a single bite.
Commenters on TikTok couldn’t get enough of his stubborn stance.

Eventually, Beau’s parents gave in. They cracked open the cake themselves, revealing pink frosting inside — it’s a girl! For the sake of the video, they playfully dabbed a bit of frosting on Beau’s face.
With the pressure off and no more cameras rolling, Beau finally decided the cake was actually worth trying and dove right in.
When Campana shared the behind-the-scenes footage of Beau’s protest, viewers were both amused and “betrayed.”

Campana replied, “I did all the planning and baking — I feel bamboozled by him!”
While Beau’s feelings about becoming a big brother are still up in the air, one thing’s certain: this little girl is going to learn early how to stand her ground — just like her four-legged sibling.
