When staff arrived at the Bolpur railway station in India the other morning, they expected another ordinary day at work. But as they stepped into the ticket office, they froze — someone had already clocked in early.
Sitting confidently behind the desk was a wild langur monkey, looking every bit like he belonged there.
The curious visitor had apparently wandered in from the station platform, found himself a comfortable chair, and decided to take charge of operations. He pawed through papers, tapped away at the keyboard, and studied the computer screen as if balancing the books.
“Wow, talk about an efficient and tech-savvy langur!” one amused onlooker joked online after a video of the scene spread.
For nearly 30 minutes, the furry “employee” busied himself with his work while station staff and commuters looked on, laughing.
Rather than chase him out, officials let him be — langurs are deeply respected animals in India, often seen as symbols of strength and intelligence.
Eventually, one worker offered the little clerk a well-earned snack from the break room.
After enjoying his treat, the langur calmly hopped down from the desk and strolled out, leaving behind a crowd of smiling witnesses and an unforgettable morning.
With his brief shift complete, the diligent primate disappeared into the day — clearly satisfied with a job well done.
