Imagine seeing an animal suffering in such a way that each piece of you breaks a thousand times over. That is what happened to the rescuers who found this innocent creature on the side of the highway, trying to navigate his way around.

A monster purposely did this to him. We understand that it’s hard to look at so we did our best to blur the photos.

This is a product of pure evil. No one with a human heart could harm an animal like this. Both of his eyes are bulging out of the socket. This is likely the result of extreme pressure to his head. Or worse. Each eye was purposely pierced. Either way, it’s horrid and we are beyond grateful that someone stopped to help him.

The dog was immediately taken to the vet. The vet adjusted his eyes and scheduled him for surgery. Both eyes would need to be removed. Sometimes they can be saved but not for this extreme case. The vet tried to reset them but it was no use. They had to be operated on.

The surgery was a huge success. The poor angel’s pain was minimal. The vet made sure he had continuous pain meds on board as well as antibiotics to prevent infection.

His days ahead were an adjustment but they went well. The doggy-warrior learned how to navigate the world without his eyes, but dogs are so resilient. Amazingly, he didn’t seem to mind. Likely because he felt all the love around him from his new foster family.

The new chapter to his new happy life came next! The little warrior found a forever home! A wonderful family heard about his plight and couldn’t wait to adopt him. They knew he had been through so much and couldn’t wait to give him a perfect life where he’s treated like the prince he is. Oh, and he got a new kitty sibling! And they love to play!

We saved the best part for last: The doggy-warrior became a therapy dog! YES! Through all his challenges and hurdles, this special dog remains upbeat and calm. He loves people and even without his eyes, is so comfortable with his surroundings. He really is an incredible pooch!
