The sanctuary workers at “Hope For Wildlife” rehabilitation were left scratching their heads when they took in a bizarre-looking “fox cub”.
The creature was unnaturally quiet and just different from what baby foxes are usually like.
It didn’t take long for the workers to figure out that their new guest was actually not a fox, but rather a very rare raccoon, and a blonde one at that!

Chelsea Pullen, a vet tech with the sanctuary, found that this pretty raccoon had very low melanin content in her skin and hair follicles.
Although the critter is not a true albino, the lack of pigment renders her blonde and also stops the formation of the signature black mask pattern that raccoons are known for.

This is only the second blonde raccoon that the sanctuary has seen in the past 21 years. No wonder the locals have been thrilled to have such a special raccoon in their midst!
The sanctuary plans on holding on to the raccoon till the winter months, and release her back into the wild when she is older and stronger.

The sanctuary rehabilitates dozens of raccoons each year, but this charming beauty surely stands out.
However, it is not a practically ideal situation for raccoons to be light-furred, as it makes them weaker and more vulnerable to diseases and predators.
We hope this cute little critter has a long and healthy life ahead of her!

Sadly, Dobermans are known more for their ferocity than their smarts, but these are considered among the most intelligent dogs in the world, as well as one of the most effective guard dogs around. They’re outstanding students known to be affectionate and obedient.
9. Bloodhound

Don’t let the wrinkles and dopey expression fool you! Bloodhounds have the keenest of noses, and are often used for trailing (so much so that their evidence can be used in court against you!). These are loving but strong-willed dogs, and are often used on search and rescue missions.
10. Australian Cattle Dog

You need a smart, determined and energetic dog to control unruly cows. And that’s just what the Australian Cattle Dog, or ACD, does. They’re intelligent enough to herd these much larger creatures, and while they need their independence and wide open spaces, they’re eager workers who know how to get the job done.
