Cherries are dangerous for dogs! The plant (except for the fleshy part of the fruit) contains cyanide which can be toxic.
If your dog eats a cherry plant, be on the lookout for any odd behavior like dilated pupils, breathing problems and red gums.
This is a sign of cyanide poisoning!
