Giant Puppy’s Cuddles Create Hilarious Optical Illusions

Meet Mossy, a 6-month-old puppy who’s growing faster than his brain can keep up. Despite his massive paws and long, floppy limbs, Mossy is convinced he’s still the size of a lapdog — which is unfortunate news for his smaller, older brother, Doug.

Whenever Mossy decides it’s cuddle time, he doesn’t care that his body could practically blanket Doug. He plops right on top of him anyway, creating hilarious optical illusions that make it hard to tell where one dog ends and the other begins.

Fortunately, Doug has learned to stay calm through it all.

“[Doug] couldn’t care less about drama or anything,” their mom, Penny Ramsey, told The Dodo. “He just ignores Mossy.”

Their bond goes back to Mossy’s very first night at home. When the nervous pup whimpered in his crate, Doug — usually the grumpy one — gave a single, low bark. Like magic, Mossy quieted down, soothed by the sound of his big brother’s reassurance.

“I was like, ‘Oh, thank you, Doug!’” Ramsey said.

Since then, Mossy has looked up to Doug in every way — sometimes a little too literally. When he’s not flattening Doug in a display of brotherly love, he’s busy romping around with his other dog siblings, Lyra and Bertie.

Ramsey says life with her pack is never dull.

“Mossy is just happy-go-lucky, always smiling,” she said. “[Doug] just wants to sit on your lap all day.”

Together, they’re proof that love (and a little patience) can survive even the heaviest of snuggle attacks.
