
It was about time for the animal hospital to close for the night when Dr. Andy Mathis received a call about a neglected dog who needed immediate help. The gray pit bull arrived in horrible condition.
They found an abandoned, starving pit bull on the road. She was taken to Dr. Andy Mathis where he realized that she was hypothermic and suffering from a vaginal prolapse.

Dr. Mathis had two choices: he could put Graycie to sleep or try to help her. Her chances weren’t great, but he knew he had to try to save her.

In order to make Graycie comfortable, Dr. Mathis decided to sit in the kennel and eat out of a metal bowl with her as equals.
