Khemjira Klongsanun was running the Chombueng marathon in Ratchaburi in Western Thailand when just seven miles in, she laid eyes on a tiny puppy who was wandering around by himself in the road.
All of the other runners ignored the pup and ran around him, but Klongsanun knew she couldn’t leave him there. Without hesitation, she picked him up and continued running the race. She ran 19 miles with him in her arms.
Klongsanum told Runner’s World that running nearly 20 miles carrying the dog was a challenge and twice as tiring than a normal marathon, but she couldn’t resist his adorable looks.
Not only did she carry him the whole race, but she decided to adopt him as well! She named the sweet pup ‘Chombueng’ after the name of the marathon, and says he is very smart.
Klongsanum took him to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations. Chombueng is now getting used to his new home and has made friends with Klongsanun’s two other dogs.
It looks like both Klongsanum and Chombueng were in the right place at the right time. Fate truly brought them together!

She bent down, picked him up, and carried him. The whole race. All 19 miles. At the end, he fell asleep on her kit.
