
A rhesus macaque is turning heads in Erode, India, after the primate was spotted with a tiny puppy.

Although macaques and stray dogs are not unusual sights in the town, seeing one treat a puppy as if he was her baby, is unusual.
Locals are reportedly leaving out food for the animals and have observed that the monkey makes sure the puppy eats first before eating herself.
The monkey has defended the puppy from other stray dogs.
