If there wasn’t reason enough to love Patrick Stewart, the well-known actor is winning a whole new group of fans among dog lovers after he began fostering a Pit Bull named Ginger. The actor and his wife welcomed the dog into their home on On March 8, 2017, and the actor quickly “fell in love”, as did Ginger with him, greeting him warmly at the door.
A short time later, Ginger was poolside with Stewart, enjoying the sunshine. Although the dog didn’t brave the water, she did make sure to give him some reassuring licks on the head.
“The swimming lesson that wasn’t,” Stewart writes on Twitter. “Our foster pibble Ginger is perfect afternoon company.”

Stewart and his wife, Sunny, are fostering Ginger through the ASPCA and Wags and Walks. The couple said, “We’ve loved pit bulls since meeting our neighbor pibble Sadie, and fostering is a great way for us to love this beautiful breed.”
Ginger has quickly made herself comfortable, jumping onto the couch and becoming a 60 pound “lap dog”.
After all that activity, Ginger needed a nap and was still breaking the “no dogs on the furniture rule”, but it seems with Stewart’s blessing. “From what I understand rules and consistency are everything as a foster dog parent. #GingerGurl @ASPCA @WagsandWalks #AdoptDontShop #pitbull”
