Meet Donny and Lily — two pups who adore beach days, especially when there are balls to chase.
But while fetch is their favorite pastime, these outings often turn into an unexpected game of hide-and-seek for their family.
Recently, their owner, Reddit user Maryapc, took Donny and Lily to their favorite rocky shoreline in Australia. Of course, she brought along a few tennis balls — because, as she explained:
“When there are balls involved, nothing else matters.”
The uneven terrain of the beach gives the dogs plenty of space to spread out and position themselves where they think the ball might land. It also makes them blend in surprisingly well with the rocks and driftwood around them.
So well, in fact, that when Maryapc snapped a photo and shared it online, people had the toughest time spotting either dog.
At first glance, the picture looks like nothing more than a jumble of rocks and sand — but both Donny and Lily are hiding in plain sight.
Of the two, Donny (the brown dog) is a little easier to find.
For those who failed to find him, here’s a hint:
Sure enough, there’s Donny, closer to the foreground with his rear facing the camera.
His fur blends in with the stones, but his tail and back paws give him away once you look closely.
Lily, on the other hand, is much trickier.
A helpful hint offered by one eagle-eyed Reddit user describes Lily’s general vicinity:
“If you divide the image into 4 quadrants, [she’s] on the bottom right corner of the top left quadrant.”
Still stumped? It’s hard to blame you.
Here’s another clue — Lily is in this circle:
She’s tucked behind a rock in the distance, with just her watchful face peeking out. Many people admitted they couldn’t see her at all until the answer was revealed.
“My dad never found [Lily] and had to have it pointed out,” Maryapc said. “He was crying with laughter when I showed him.”
According to Maryapc, Lily has a habit of sneaking off with the ball and hiding — sometimes leaving only an ear or a nose visible as she waits for the next throw.
“She’s honestly so funny when she hides like this,” her mom said.

It might take a few tries to spot Donny and Lily in the photo, but one thing’s for sure: their talent for camouflage makes beach days even more entertaining.
Despite being so cute, Donny and Lily sure can be easy to miss.
