A dog named Scarlett at a shelter injured herself by putting her paws outside her kennel door trying to get pets from visitors, causing deep gashes where her “arms” crossed the bars.
While reaching for attention, her paws got caught and injured by the kennel door, resulting in deep wounds.
The injury was noticed by a person who was visiting the shelter, who posted about the dog on TikTok which went viral.
Within a day of the video being posted, Colleen and her husband saw it, drove to the shelter, and adopted Scarlett.
The new owners were emotional when they gave Scarlett her first bath, noting that she was very thin and could feel every bone in her body.
But after a few weeks of care from her new family, her true, sweet personality began to emerge.
