Melissa Lundstrom thought it was just another ordinary day — until she realized one of her dogs was mysteriously missing.
While walking through the house, Lundstrom spotted one of her pups lounging comfortably on a cozy black rug. But when she looked around for her other dog, Mixie, she couldn’t find her anywhere.
She called out. Checked every room. Looked under furniture, behind doors — but Mixie had seemingly vanished.
As the minutes ticked by, worry started to set in. Lundstrom searched the entire house for over an hour, wondering where on earth Mixie could be hiding.
Eventually, she returned to the rug where her other dog was still calmly relaxing. And then — finally — she saw it.
Mixie had been there all along, completely camouflaged. The fluffy black pup had blended in perfectly with the fuzzy black rug, becoming practically invisible. She was so cozy and content that she hadn’t moved a muscle during the entire search.
“She was right there the whole time,” Lundstrom said, both relieved and a little exasperated.
Mixie, of course, looked completely unbothered. Her brother didn’t seem concerned either — after all, from their point of view, Mixie was never actually lost. She just happened to be napping like a master of disguise.
Next time Mixie disappears, Lundstrom will know exactly where to look — and maybe invest in a rug that doesn’t double as the perfect hiding spot for a stealthy dog.
