Meet Harami — a pint-sized pup with a big heart, a glowing presence (literally), and a devoted family who treats her like royalty.
Harami lives in Japan with her doting parents, and to them, she’s more than just a dog — she’s their cherished child.
“For me, she’s my beloved child,” her mom told The Dodo. “Harami always sleeps in bed with Mom and Dad.”
Each night, the family curls up together in their shared bed — a cozy picture of love and comfort. But recently, Harami added a surprising twist to the bedtime routine.
One night, after everyone had fallen asleep, Harami’s mom got up quietly to use the bathroom. She tiptoed back into the dark room, careful not to disturb her sleeping husband or pup.
Then she stopped in her tracks.
There, in the dim stillness, was Harami — wide awake and watching her. But what made the moment so surreal was that her tiny face was glowing.
“It looked like something out of a ghost story,” her mom said, laughing.
Turns out, Harami had climbed onto her mom’s pillow while she was gone — and in doing so, accidentally activated her phone's screen.
The light from the phone shone upward, casting a spooky glow on Harami’s face like she was about to tell a scary story around a campfire.
“At the time, my phone was on my pillow,” her mom explained. “When I went to the bathroom, she climbed on it, and the phone lit up.”
What could’ve been a spooky sight turned out to be nothing more than a curious pup, making sure her mom was OK.
“I found it so cute that I laughed,” her mom said. “Harami loves me and wags her tail happily when I laugh. She’s a treasure.”
Even in the middle of the night, Harami finds a way to make her family smile — glowing face and all.
