While on her usual morning walk to work in Brazil, Nathalia Santos suddenly had that unmistakable feeling — as if someone, or something, was watching her.
She glanced around the quiet street. No people in sight. But the sensation lingered.
Then she looked up — and cracked a smile.
Perched in the tangled branches of a tree above her were several wide-eyed cats, peering down at her like a furry feline surveillance team.
Their faces were frozen in the kind of startled expression that seemed to say, “Wait… she saw us?”
“I walk this route every day and had never noticed them before,” Santos told The Dodo. “I thought it was really funny — and so unusual.”
She counted at least four cats lounging and climbing in the tree, possibly a fifth hidden in the leaves. Santos snapped a quick photo and shared it later online with a playful caption:
“Look what I found on my way to work. I don’t even know what kind of tree this is — I just know I want one. The only reason I haven’t planted one at home is because I live in an apartment.”
Though she didn’t have time to stick around and watch the cats play, their quirky tree-top antics left a lasting impression.
“They definitely made my day brighter,” she said.
