Imagine what it would be like if poachers who try to kill innocent animals suddenly are the ones being hunted. That’s exactly what Kinessa Johnson, a former armed forces weapons instructor, is doing with other veterans.
The diehard animal lover joined Veterans Empowered to Protect African Wildlife (VEPAW). The group uses their skills and expertise to train rangers to stop poachers from needlessly killing animals in Africa.

Once captured, they are given to the appropriate authorities.
In a statement to Independent UK, Johnson shared, “Most of the time anyone that is in a reserve with a weapon is considered a threat and can be shot if rangers feel threatened.”

On Facebook, Johnson posted to her followers that corruption is all over Africa. She shared an article detailing how the African government takes bribes in exchange for the death of rhinos.

In addition to poaching rhinos, snaring and hunting with large rifles and dogs is decreasing the numbers of wildlife in general.
She says her two biggest fans are her Bulldogs, named Ragnar and Saint. Once she recovers from recent surgery, the warrior heads back to Africa to defend and protect wildlife from horrible poachers. Stand strong, Kinessa!
