3-year-old Victoria Bensch was playing with her Queensland Heeler pooch named Blue in her rural Arizona home, when all of a sudden she realized that Rusty, her other dog, was nowhere to be found. The worried girl stepped out to look for Rusty, and Blue followed her too.

However, Rusty was very much at home. When Victoria’s single-dad Earnest Bensch discovered that his little girl was missing, he panicked and immediately called the cops. The authorities arranged for a helicopter and began inspecting the vast rural wilderness in search of Victoria.
After 15 hours of intense search through the freezing night, Victoria was finally located. She was passed out beside Blue, while Blue kept a strict watch on her. The search team tried to get near Victoria, but the fiercely protective Blue wouldn’t let anyone near her.

Blue eventually realized that the team was there to bring them home. Victoria was delirious and her feet were swollen from frostbite. She was taken to the hospital, where the doctors figured out that Blue had saved her life!

As it turns out, Blue had not only comforted Victoria through the night, but had also shielded her from the life-threatening cold by keeping her warm. He kept her safe from predators and snuggled up to her all night. What a brave and nurturing guardian angel! You are a true hero, Blue!
